Auspost sent me unexpected tracking (Jan 2026)

Today we were contacted by many of Australian customers about an Auspost email with parcel tracking details, and it appears that this may be an error within the Auspost system.

After checking our Auspost account, we found no information for any orders (as we haven't placed any direct orders with them in years) which leaves us just as puzzled as you are. We are also contacting our warehouse to check if there was an issue on their end and are awaiting their reply.

To address this issue, we have opened an investigation with Auspost and are actively seeking clarification including a list of customers so we can contact them as well as requesting AusPost to contact the customers informing them of this error. However we have also been told that as we didn't send the parcels we are unable to gather information due to privacy laws. We will be updating our help page with any new information we receive.
